Acne therapy using acne products

Acne therapy using acne products
You want to take good care of yourself, but you also like a functional approach. Picking at your inflammations yourself can worsen your acne and result in scarring. Then acne therapy using products is something for you. It is a medical treatment that focuses on removing impurities in the face and neck. The therapy aims to reduce active acne, prevent new outbreaks and, importantly, minimize scarring. Our most comprehensive acne treatment is Acne therapy using IPL . Here you can read more about acne and the solutions that medicadermis can offer. Acne is a common skin condition in which pimples, blackheads and inflammations burden your skin. Care and treatment are important to limit the consequences of acne or even eliminate them.
The treatment: frequency, procedure and recovery
Oily skin is the result of the amount of sebum that the skin produces. This is largely dependent on genetic factors and therefore the cause cannot be completely eliminated. Keeping the skin condition under control is therefore very important. The number of treatments for moderate to severe acne varies and depends on the severity of the acne. During the period with active inflammation, it is advisable to undergo a treatment every two weeks. As the situation improves, this can be reduced.
The treatment procedure is as follows:
-
Cleansing: We start with a thorough cleansing of your skin to remove make-up, dirt and excess oils. This is crucial to prepare your skin for the next steps of the treatment.
-
Enzymatic pre-treatment: We apply an enzymatic pre-treatment that gently loosens dead skin cells without damaging your skin. This makes the extraction easier and less uncomfortable for you.
-
Cleansing and extractions: We then carefully extract comedones (blackheads) and pustules (pimples) manually for immediate relief from clogged pores.
-
Aftercare: After the extractions we apply specific creams that suit your skin type and condition. These creams soothe the skin, help the skin to recover and prevent new inflammation.
-
SPF: Finally, you will be given a sun protection factor (SPF) cream to protect the treated skin from UV radiation and to prevent hyperpigmentation.
Optionally choose the "Comfort treatment" as an addition
Comfort treatment with acne therapy (€20 – not reimbursed)
Beforehand I use desincrustation: a gentle stream with an alkaline product to open the pores and soften sebum. This makes cleansing less painful and more effective.
After cleansing, I calm the skin with high frequency: an antibacterial current that reduces redness and accelerates recovery.
These additional steps are not included in the reimbursement and are stated separately on the invoice.
To enable optimal recovery of your skin after the treatment, daily application of a high SPF that is tailored to oily skin is an important step. Even when it is not sunny to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation. It is tempting to pick at spots or scabs, but resist this urge to not disrupt the healing process. If this is not possible, we recommend that you use an anti-itch cream . This will reduce the chance of scarring. Follow the cleansing advice and skin care routine as prescribed by our skin therapist.
Other treatment options for acne
When considering acne treatments, it is important to also know something about the available alternatives. Each of these alternatives has its own benefits and risks. The choice often depends on individual circumstances such as skin type, severity of acne and your personal preference. Our skin therapist can advise you on this during the personal consultation. Some frequently seen alternatives for acne treatment are:
Topical Medications
- Benefits: Topical medications are easy to use and can be effective for mild to moderate acne. They can help reduce inflammation, kill bacteria, and stimulate skin cell turnover.
- Risks: Side effects may include dryness, redness, and irritation of the skin. Some ingredients, such as retinoids, may make the skin more sensitive to sunlight. Also, certain products are not suitable for dry skin. Because it is conveniently assumed that acne is caused by oily skin, this is not always clear on the packaging.
Oral Medicines
- Benefits: Oral medications can be more powerful and help treat acne from the inside out, which is especially helpful for severe acne.
- Risks: They can have side effects such as stomach upset, dizziness, and in the case of isotretinoin, more serious risks such as birth defects during pregnancy and possible mood swings.
Other Light and Laser Therapies
- Benefits: These therapies can target specific aspects of acne, such as killing bacteria or reducing inflammation and scarring, with minimal downtime.
- Risks: Possible side effects include temporary redness, swelling, and in rare cases, pigmentation changes or scarring.
Chemical Peels
- Benefits: They can be effective in reducing the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, and improving overall skin texture.
- Risks: Risks include redness, flaking, and with deeper peels, a risk of infection or changes in skin pigmentation.

With Medicadermis you take good care of yourself
In the competitive market of beauty and skin treatments, it is crucial to find a trusted partner. One that not only excels in quality and service, but also uses the best and proven technology. Because when it comes to your health and appearance, you should not take risks. Medicadermis distinguishes itself by dedication to high standards. Both in knowledge and expertise and in the application of clinically proven equipment and treatments. Hypes with a 'latest and greatest' promise are not something you will quickly find at medicadermis, because it takes time before scientific evidence is available. Only then do we decide to offer something.
The reality of the beauty industry
The beauty industry is now flooded with all kinds of laser, IPL and other devices, many of which do not meet the quality requirements according to our western medical standard. There is also often no scientific evidence for treatments. Variation in equipment, lack of basic dermatological knowledge, but also insufficient training and experience of the practitioner can lead to unsatisfactory results. Even to an increased risk of side effects or skin damage for the patient.
Feel beautiful and confident with the Quality of medicadermis.
We go for the capital letter K when it comes to quality and work with the M22 Stellar from Lumenis, among others. This system is used worldwide because of its superior performance in hospitals and clinics by dermatologists. The M22 stands for reliable treatment for a range of skin treatments, including pigment spots. And last but not least: our equipment receives frequent technical maintenance. Because just as you cannot write sharply with a blunt pencil, an uncalibrated laser or used up IPL tube is not effective.
Our skin therapist has years of experience, but continuously enriches her knowledge and skills with training and education. Our choice of equipment and expert care allows us to offer you safe, proven effective and personalized treatments. Your (skin) needs are guaranteed in good hands at medicadermis.
Worth the trust
Our commitment is not only to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. But we also give you a nice peace of mind, because with medicadermis you know you are in good hands. We are not the cheapest, but we do offer the best price-quality. And you can trust that.
