Blackhead removal – professional blackhead treatment
Stubborn blackheads on your nose, chin, forehead, or cheeks? With the Blackheads treatment at Medicadermis, I carefully remove suitable blockages without unnecessarily stressing the skin.
The treatment consists of a thorough cleansing, an exfoliation tailored to your skin, professional extractions and appropriate skincare. I also look at your home routine, so that we not only tackle existing blackheads but also focus on limiting new blockages.
Not every blackhead is a blackhead. Normal sebaceous filaments may be visible, especially on the nose. These do not need to be constantly removed. Therefore, I first assess what actually constitutes a blockage.
You can choose from a treatment of 30 minutes (M) or 45 minutes (L). Which variant suits you depends on the number of blockages, the distribution, and the condition of your skin. The current price is displayed with the product variant.

Who is the Blackheads treatment suitable for?
This treatment is primarily intended for open blackheads and other superficial blockages that can be safely removed. For example, on the nose, chin, forehead, or cheeks.
Do you primarily have many closed comedones, painful inflammations, or extensive acne? Then a more comprehensive acne treatment plan might be more suitable. I also do not automatically treat sebaceous filaments as blackheads.
How does the blackheads treatment work?
The goal is to carefully remove existing, suitable blockages. I prepare the skin with cleansing and appropriate exfoliation, after which I treat the blackheads with controlled extractions.
I take the skin barrier, sensitivity, and any inflammation into account. I do not force a blockage that does not dislodge without excessive pressure. The treatment can make the skin feel smoother, but it does not prevent new blackheads from forming.
How does the treatment proceed step by step?
1. Skin assessment and cleansing
I examine where the blockages are located and whether they involve blackheads, sebum filaments, or another skin condition. Afterwards, I thoroughly cleanse the skin.
2. Appropriate exfoliation
Depending on the condition and sensitivity of your skin, I use a suitable exfoliant to loosen accumulated superficial skin cells and prepare the skin.
3. Professional extractions
I remove blackheads that are suitable for this. I work in a controlled manner and avoid applying unnecessary pressure. I deliberately leave some spots alone.
4. Care and home advice
Afterwards, I will care for the skin and discuss how you can gently cleanse and care for it at home. When appropriate, we will discuss ingredients that can help limit new blockages.
The cleansing process may be slightly sensitive locally. The amount of treatment that can be performed within the booked time varies depending on the skin type.
How many treatments do I need and what can I expect?
For a limited number of blackheads, one treatment may be sufficient to address the existing, easily removable blockages. For many or deeper comedones, follow-up treatments or a broader acne plan may be necessary.
Immediately after the treatment, the skin may feel cleaner or smoother, and visible blockages may be reduced. The result depends on the nature and quantity of blackheads and on how your skin reacts.
New blockages remain possible. Therefore, I also pay attention to daily skincare, and if necessary, we evaluate whether a follow-up treatment would be beneficial.
What is the recovery time and what aftercare is needed?
After extractions, local redness, sensitivity, or small superficial spots may occur. Usually, a mild reaction clears up within a short time, but recovery may take longer for sensitive skin.
Leave the treated areas alone, do not squeeze again, and use a mild cleanser and appropriate moisturizing care. Temporarily avoid scrubs, strong exfoliants, and other irritating products until the skin has calmed down.
Protect your skin well from the sun. After the treatment, you will receive advice tailored to the exfoliation applied and your skin reaction.
When is the treatment unsuitable or when should we postpone it?
In the event of an active skin infection, herpes outbreak, open wounds, severely irritated skin, or clear inflammation in the treatment area, postponement may be necessary. I also first assess whether extractions are advisable in the case of a fragile skin barrier or a recent intensive skin treatment.
Please inform us in advance which skin products and medications you use, such as retinoids or agents that make the skin more sensitive. Pregnancy does not automatically rule out gentle cleansing, but it does determine which exfoliating products are suitable.
When a spot is not clearly a blackhead or another condition is suspected, I do not simply treat it as a blockage.
When is another acne treatment more suitable?
The Blackheads treatment targets blackheads and superficial blockages. For many closed comedones, recurring pimples, or more extensive acne, a course of treatment including acne therapy, suitable peels, and home care may be more appropriate.
IPL may also be considered for suitable inflammatory acne. Red or brown residual spots and deepened acne scars, however, require a separate assessment.

Which treatment variant should I choose: M or L?
There are two treatment options. The time required depends on the number of blackheads, their distribution, and the condition of the skin. The examples below are indicative.
M – 30 minutes
Smaller treatment area or fewer blackheads
For example, when blockages are mainly located on the nose and chin. Suitable if relatively few spots need to be carefully removed.
L – 45 minutes
Multiple zones or more extensive blockages
For example, when blackheads are spread across the nose, chin, forehead, and cheeks, and more time is needed for the extractions.
